Parenting the Positive Discipline Way
6:30 p.m. - 8:30 p.m.
This series of six free workshops, presented by Sacramento Public Library in partnership with San Juan Unified School District, will teach participants positive discipline, a program designed to teach children and teens to become responsible, respectful, and resourceful members of their communities. Once you've learned the positive discipline model, you'll be able to deal successfully with childrens behavioral problems without ever resorting to yelling, lectures, or spanking. Based on the best selling Positive Discipline books by Dr. Jane Nelsen, positive discipline teaches social and life skills in a way that is respectful and encouraging for both children and adults.
Workshop leader Kara Macomber, a teacher for 14 years and the mother of two young sons, has received specialized training in teaching Parenting the Positive Discipline Way from Positive Discipline author Jane Nelson.
