Library Cards
Sacramento Public Library cards may be used at any of our 27 Sacramento city and county locations, as well as for accessing online content. Please present your photo identification and proof of address to library staff when applying for a library card. Applicants younger than age 18 must have a parent or legal guardian’s signature on library card form. Library cards are free, but there is $2 replacement fee. Library card applications can also be initiated online. eCards (electronic library cards) are also available for accessing online content; ask library staff for details.
Maximum Borrowing Limits
Thirty items maximum per borrower (including maximum of five DVDs). An item may renewed up to three times, unless it has been requested by another customer or is on interlibrary loan. Renewals may be made at any library location, through the library online catalog, or by telephone at (916) 264-2920.
Internet
Free library Internet use is available. Computer reservations can be made at any library location or online. Please see library staff with questions about library Internet use policy. Computer printouts are 15¢ per page.
The Sacramento Public Library proudly offers free Wi-Fi at all of our 27 locations. Getting connected to our wireless network is easy!
